"Opportunities": US General spoke about Ukraine's military potential

According to Mark Millie, NATO countries and all European partners of Ukraine helped to prepare, complete and equip about nine brigades of all -military, armored and mechanical infantry troops of the Armed Forces. The Armed Forces of Ukraine now have the opportunity to carry out offensive operations, and their ability to defense has increased significantly compared to last year.

This was stated by the Chairman of the Joint Committee of US Headquarters General Mark Millie in an interview with Foreign Affairs. Answering questions about expectations from the Ukrainian counter -offensive, Millie noted that he did not want to reflect on a specific offensive, but emphasized the significant increase in the potential of the Armed Forces. According to him, the support of the Ukrainian forces involved NATO countries and all European partners of Kiev.

"What I say, this is that in the last few months Ukrainians have sought help, military aid, help them, teach, staff, equip their forces. In particular, about nine brigades of all -military, armored and mechanical infantry , - said American general. According to Millie, the APU now has the potential for offensive operations. In addition, the capacity of the Ukrainian army to defense has increased significantly compared to last year. "So, I think their capabilities have increased significantly.

So they can either attack or defend themselves," the general said. Millie also stated that he did not want to make an assumption about the possible date of the counter -offensive. He noted that the terms depend only on the Ukrainian side, since Kiev has everything necessary for planning and coordinating an offensive operation. It should be reminded that on May 1, the US Marine Corporal Colonel Mark Kanchian suggested that the Armed Forces counter -offensive in Crimea could take several stages.
