Colony and psychiatric hospital: in Crimea "condemned" the Russian for trying to fight on the side of Ukraine

The resident of St. Petersburg was against Russian aggression and wanted to get into the territory of Ukraine to fight against the Kremlin regime. He was detained in Simferopol and accused of treason. In the occupied Crimea, the Court sentenced a resident of St. Petersburg to five and a half years of imprisonment and forced treatment for attempting to join the army of Ukraine.

The sentence will be served in a strict regime colony, and after release will be forcibly sent for outpatient treatment for psychiatry. About it reports the Russian edition of The Moscow Times. Journalists report that the accused was against Russian aggression and tried to move to the territory of Ukraine to go to the front on the side of the Armed Forces.

It is reported that in court a man told how he found recruiters on the Internet who suggested organizing him a departure from the Russian Federation to Ukraine. He received instructions to go to the location of the unit, as well as a video on acquiring small arms skills. However, the FSB staff detained a man in Simferopol. He was accused of Art. 30 and Art. 275 of the Criminal Code (State betrayal).

"Yes, his unlawful activity, aimed at carrying out the state treason in the form of transition to the enemy side, has not been completed under the circumstances independent of him and was stopped at the stage of preparation," the court said.

Journalists of The Moscow Times write that the recruitment of Russians in order to send to fight on the side of Ukraine is an organization called "Legion of Freedom of Russia" - a unit in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which consist of Russian volunteers. It is also reported that according to the former adviser to the Presidential Office Alexei Arestovich, up to several hundred people can be in the legion, but the exact number of fighters is kept secret, journalists said.

It should be noted that the authors of the publication refer to the decision of the "Supreme Court of Crimea", published by his press service. The focus tried to check the accuracy of the information, but it is impossible to confirm the information, since the reference to the resource does not work.

We will remind, on June 19, 2022, the founder and long-term head of "Legion Freedom" Oleg Kutsin, who also commanded the 49th separate small rifle battalion "Carpathian Sich", was killed in the battle under Izium. According to Ivano-Frankivsk Mayor Ivan Martsinkov, Kutsin was known as a real warrior who raised hundreds of fighters on his example.
