This was stated by the head of the intelligence department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kirill Budanov in an interview with CNN. According to him, the Russian Federation is preparing for street battles in the regional center. However, he noted that the Armed Forces "realize and understand the complexity of their position" and do not want to be completely surrounded.
Budanov added that the withdrawal of Russian troops from the right shore of the Kherson region will accelerate when the Ukrainian army will take under artillery control of the dam through the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. "Therefore, all our battle units are moving towards Kherson and a new Kakhovka," said the head of GUR.
We will remind, on October 24 Budanov stated that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are not going to leave Kherson in the near future, but prepare it for defense. According to him, occupation administrations, cash and financial institutions are removed from the city in case you need to quickly depart. On October 26, the Minister of Defense Alexei Reznikov said that the offensive of the Armed Forces in the Kherson region slowed down due to rain.
