It is reported that Republican Lindsey Graham and Democrat Richard Blumental have submitted to the Senate a corresponding project of the resolution. During one of his speeches in Congress, Graham indicated that Russia's nuclear strike in Ukraine would lead to radiation contamination of huge territories, including NATO countries. He also expressed concern to the transfer of Russian nuclear weapons to the territory of Belarus.
According to Graham, in order to prevent a nuclear catastrophe, it is necessary to clearly outline the consequences that will lead to the Kremlin's action in this direction. "Our message to those surrounding Putin. If you do it if you fulfill his order, if he ever gives it, you can expect a massive response from NATO and you will find yourself in the war against NATO," the senator said.
For his part, Richard Blumental noted that radiation will affect the health of Ukrainians and residents of neighboring European countries, especially Poland. The senator warned the Russian Federation against the use of nuclear weapons, as well as from actions at the Zaporozhye NPPs that could threaten NATO countries.
"This is not an irresponsible or panic resolution, it is based on facts and science and is intended to send the message to Vladimir Putin and his military: they will be destroyed, they will be erased," the Blumental warned. It should be reminded that on June 22, the head of the Zaporizhzhya Ova Yuri Malashko spoke about the situation for the ZPP, noting that the military of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation retained heavy weapons and periodically damaging high -voltage lines.
