During the meeting, a report was heard and a draft resolution was adopted on the topic: "The situation with Ukrainian civilians, in particular with children, forcibly displaced or relocated to the Russian Federation or in Ukrainian territories under the actual control of the Russian Federation. " The draft resolution was prepared within the framework of the PACE Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons. The speaker is Paulo Sasko (Portugal, SOC).

The president's wife thanked the PACE plenary session for the topic of compulsory deportation of Ukrainian children. “This topic is very painful in Ukraine. I thank you for the fight for our children and their childhood. We are told: "There are no other children. 12-year-old Sashko was with his mother Snizhana in Mariupol when the city was surrounded by Russian military. Together, they survived terrible shelling, lack of water, heat, hunger, and Sasha's wounds. Until the Russians were divided. They were not even allowed to say goodbye. The boy was told that his mother gave up him. Sasha was saved, but his mother is still captured by Russian invaders. 12-year-old Kira was also with Dad in Mariupol when the Russians began to destroy the city.

Dad, a former captain of the Ukrainian Water Polo Water Polo, died during a bombing. The girl was taken out to Donetsk. The great efforts of the state, public figures, dozens of indifferent Kira returned to his grandparents. Another family - Dad Eugene, son of Matthew, little Svyatoslav and Alexander - also from Mariupol. The dad was thrown into prison and the children were taken to the shelter. For several months they knew nothing about each other. Children were found in a boarding house near Moscow on the eve of how the Russians had to adopt them. “These stories show all this terrible technology, how the occupiers abduct Ukrainian children. Most often - having killed their parents or forcibly divorced with families. And they export entire children's homes and boarding schools, ”the first lady said.

She stressed that these are stories that have a good end when children managed to return. Such are 361. “But there is a figure that strikes even more - 19 390. It is the number of children who are still in Russian captivity. And these are only those data that are confirmed. But this number is not final, because what happens to children in the occupied territories is unknown.

For each figure - a broken life not only of the child, but also of her family, all who have no rest for months, ”said Elena Zelenskaya. “It is a violence that lasts right now. Because right now a child is just like Sasha, they are lying that she is not needed, that she has been abandoned. Some baby, like Kira, cries for her parents killed in her eyes. Some children, like Matthew and his sisters, are prepared for forced adoption. Just now they have no contact with loved ones, ”she added.

The president's wife stressed that every day, every hour in captivity breaks the psyche of children and families, costs health and life. Therefore, Ukraine is not only needed by the concern of the world - all possible effective help is needed for their liberation. “I ask to treat this exactly as a call to all our common values. Our idea of ​​good and evil. This is the case when salvation is possible only by the efforts of the world. Let's become this world for our children.
