NATO will consider the opportunity to give Ukraine more air defense against the background of Russian attacks - Stoltenberg

According to Secretary General, the North Atlantic Alliance also intends to protect critical infrastructure after sabotage at the Nord Streams. The North Atlantic Alliance will consider giving Ukraine more air defense systems due to massive attacks of the aggressor country. This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at today's briefing.

"While Russia is increasingly resorting to horrific and non -harvesting attacks on civilians and critical infrastructure, Putin President fails in Ukraine," Stoltenberg said. He added that NATO will support the Ukrainian people as much as needed. Commenting on Ukrainian cities yesterday, the head of the Alliance noted that Russia's attacks on civil infrastructure and population are unacceptable. According to him, the Allies consider how to increase the supply of air defense and other weapons.

In addition, the Secretary General said that at the meeting of the heads of the Ministries of NATO Member States, which will take place on October 12-13 in the Belgium capital, the protection of critical infrastructure will be discussed. This is especially true because of the recent sabotage at the Nord Stream-1 and North Stream-2 gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea.

We will remind, the UN Secretary General Anthony Guterres, the President of the European Commission Ursula von Der Lyen, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and other Western politicians responded to mass shelling of the territory of Ukraine by Russian troops on October 10. The world leaders have expressed deep concern in Russian aggression, some of them promised to provide Kiev with additional weapons.
