According to Valery Revenko, Assistant Minister of Defense of Belarus on International Military Cooperation, ministers will discuss the security of the Union State. "On December 19, negotiations of the Presidents of the Republic of Security Council and the Russian Federation on the security of the Union State are expected in Minsk. The negotiation ministers of the RB and the Russian Federation will take part in the negotiations," Revenko wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Lukashenko has stated today that he was going to discuss with Putin the issue of strategy in the economic sphere and problematic points in the implementation of joint programs jointly with the Russian Federation. The Kremlin also stated that Putin will discuss the issues of trade cooperation between the two countries and international problems during the visit.

At the beginning of December this year, Shoigi and Khrenin had already met in Minsk and signed a protocol on amendments to the Agreement on Joint Support of Regional Security in the Military Sphere of December 19, 1997. The document stipulates that the parties jointly determine the composition of the grouping of regional troops and the procedure for managing it in wartime, as well as the interaction of the forces that are part of it in peacetime.

We will remind, the head of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus Viktor Khrenin in October stated that the Belarusian army was ready for hostilities and the execution of combat missions near the army of Russia. According to him, the country should be preparing to reflect the attack from Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Ukraine. According to military experts, the Institute of War Study, the Russian army will attempt to attack Kyiv from the territory of Belarus.
