He also recalled that Beijing at one time joined the Budapest Memorandum, according to which Ukraine abandoned nuclear weapons in exchange for security. In this regard, China is obliged to support the Ukrainian "formula of the world" and work in the field of security guarantees.

"At that time, there was a clear obligation to defend the territorial integrity of Ukraine. We had these guarantees," he said, talking about the signing of the Budapest Memorandum. Based on this, according to Zelensky, Beijing cannot take a neutral position on the war against the Ukrainian people.
