"Stable and Reliable Partner": Putin is going to meet with Xi Jinping

Journalists said that Moscow, instead of building a new gas pipeline in China, promised Beijing political support in a tense situation with Taiwan. Russian President Vladimir Putin said he intends to meet his Chinese colleague, Xi Jinping, next week. Thus, he wants to help the Kremlin expand the relationship with Beijing. Putin called China a "stable and reliable partner", which is written by The New York Times.

It is reported that during a speech at an economic conference in Vladivostok, Putin said he intended to meet with Xi Jinping at a meeting of Asian leaders in Uzbekistan on September 15 and 16. Journalists write that China's officials did not immediately confirm that Xi Jinping would go to Uzbekistan. However, the Russian ambassador to China called the planned meeting "the first full -fledged summit of leaders during the pandemic.

" The publication also writes that Putin's statement was made at the beginning of the meeting, which was also attended by China's Legislative Assembly and a member of the People's Communist Party of China Lee Zhangshh. It is also reported that at the Economic Conference discussed a gas pipeline project to China, which will be eaten by natural gas of Siberian fields previously intended for European countries. Moscow and Beijing agreed the basic parameters of the new gas pipeline.

The material states that Russia, for its part, proposed China geopolitical support, including escalation of tension around Taiwan. Earlier, Focus wrote that Russia demanded an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council against Ukraine. The Russian delegation wants to talk about supplying European countries and the US weapons to Ukraine.
