Russian invaders threaten to stop the Zaporozhye NPP

The invaders stated that Ukraine wants to achieve the creation of an exclusion zone with a radius of up to 30 km, as well as the introduction of international forces and foreign observers at the nuclear power plant. The Russians obviously do not want to allow this and threaten the NPP. "The issue of withdrawal to the" cold reserve "5 and 6 power units can be considered, which will lead to a stop of Zaporizhzhya NPP," - said the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The nuclear power station located in the occupied energy is the largest in Europe and the third most power in the world. The station consists of six power units with a capacity of 1 million kW each. It accounts for about 20% of annual electricity production in Ukraine. After capturing the NPP, the Russians announced that they intend to use its capacity to supply electricity of occupied Crimea.

The Russian army regularly fires various objects at the Zaporozhye station, trying to escalate the situation. For this Russia is accused of nuclear blackmail both Ukrainians and some European politicians. On August 5, Energoatom announced the shelling of the largest station in Europe on August 5 - the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant. They say that the shelling damaged the high -voltage line. At the same time, the Russians are constantly accusing Ukraine of Ukraine and say that Ukrainians prevent the mission from arriving at the international observers station, although Ukrainian politicians have been asking for this from the first days of the NPP. The Russian Federation even convened the UN Security Council to influence Ukraine. However, the results of the meeting became disappointing for the aggressor country.

Many UN members and representatives of the IAEA international regulator have stated that it was necessary to immediately suspend hostilities in the NPP, Russia called for removal of troops from the station and expressed their readiness to send an observation mission to Energodar. However, the Russians abandoned the demilitarization of the nuclear power plant, the guides of the invaders in the Zaporozhye region stated that the withdrawal of Russian troops would make NPPs "more vulnerable".
