The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the RB Volodymyr Makey told about it in an interview with the Russian news agency "News". According to him, for an effective attack on Ukraine, Russian troops can accommodate their weapons in the territory of the Smolensk region (RF), and not use the territory of another state (Belarus, ed. ). Makey believes that in terms of tactical benefits, this option is much more convenient for the Russian Federation.
At the same time, Makey could not specifically answer the question whether Belarus would place nuclear weapons on his territory, which could be a threat to Ukraine. The chief diplomat of the RB, answering this question of the journalist, reminded that the RB has an obligation to the Russian Federation as a partner. Makey stressed that Minsk and Moscow have a joint group of troops, which both countries will use to protect from the western countries.
Including nuclear weapons can also be used when Western partners "threaten" Belarus. The chief Belarusian diplomat confirmed that the issue of joint defense of the Russian Federation and nuclear weapons has already been discussed by the management of both countries and representatives of profile ministries. Earlier, Vladimir Makey stated that Minsk wanted to be a mediator in the negotiations of Ukraine and the Russian Federation, but with one condition.
