In honor of Ramadan: Russia refused to exchange prisoners of war "all on all"

The President's office said that this initiative is one of the many creative decisions that the Ukrainian negotiating side is able to exchange more prisoners. Ukraine suggested that Russia exchange prisoners of war on the principle of "all on all" on the occasion of the beginning of the Holy Month Ramadan. The proposal was rejected in the Russian Federation.

This was told by the advisor to communications of the Presidential Office of Ukraine Darya Zarivna, in an interview with Voice of America on Friday, April 7. "We have been proposed to exchange Muslims" all on all "on both sides in respect for their culture and traditions. Unfortunately, the Russian side perceived this idea without much enthusiasm," she said.

Zarivna emphasized that this initiative is a striking indicator of creative, which has to resort to the Ukrainian negotiating side to release as many captured Ukrainians as possible. "Our negotiation group is characterized by a proactive position. And the constant search for different angles under which we are going on. This is a difficult process that we need to continue, constantly looking for new ways to pull out more of ours," Zarivna added.

She reminded that since March 11, 2022, 39 exchanges were made. In 1993, 184 women and 107 civilians were released from Russian captivity. Today, on April 7, the Ukrainian intelligence stated that the possibility of Ukrainian counter -offensive is frightened by Russians, and they are massively captured. On April 6, public activist Natalia Epifanova stated that at least 10,000 Ukrainian servicemen could be captured by Russian invaders.
