This is stated in the new report of the ISW War Study of January 26. In particular, the analysts decided to comment on the dispute between Yevgeny Prigogin and Igor Strelkov-Girkin, as a result of which the businessman suggested that the exchance of pro-Russian fighters "DNR" come to the occupied Donbas and head one of the assault units of the Wagner PEC.
ISW believes that such a dispute makes further conflicts for political influence in Russia, which will be attended by representatives of nationalist groups who actively support the invasion of Ukraine. Analysts call Prigogine and Strelkova-Girkin one of the main critics of leading Vladimir Putin of the War, who pursue personal gain.
The export of DNR fighters is a representative of the "veteran wing", and the owner of the Wagner PEC is a self -proclaimed nationalist with access to the paramilitarian forces. "Prigogine and Girkin are probably competing for the commitment of the Kremlin's leading forces, which are represented by open nationalist politicians. Prigogine attacks on Gorikin can benefit Putin. in the absence of combat experience and cowardice.
