The war in Ukraine was worth waiting: the world underestimated Russia and its imperial plans - experts

According to analysts, after Russia's actions in Georgia and Syria, it was worth the beginning of a new war. Ukraine is now at the epicenter of conversations about the future of Europe. The world underestimated Russia and its imperial plans. Because of this, virtually all Western leaders did not seriously take the Putin regime in the Crimea and eastern Ukraine in 2014.

This was stated by a senior lecturer in the Institute of International Relations Stephen Getins during the event "War in Ukraine: Development, Trends, Consequences". According to the expert, after Russia's actions in Georgia and Syria, it was worth the beginning of the war in Ukraine. However, Western politicians did not see the danger that came from the Russian Federation. For example, the same Britain did not fight at all the penetration into the financial market of "dirty" Russian money.

Getins also believes that Ukraine is at the epicenter of conversations about the future of Europe. In addition, Professor of International Relations Practice Mark de War said that many in the West did not believe in a full -scale invasion of Russia.

"I think that collectively in the West we have underestimated two things: how well the revisionist is a tuned Russian government - so much that it was ready to use the force to restore something that resembles the empire," and how irrational they are, "he said. He also noted that the West believed that the Russian Federation was very difficult to attack and completely capture another country. It believed that Moscow would be too rational and be afraid of sanctions from Europe and the US.

"We have overestimated their rationality or underestimated their irrationality," the expert said. In his opinion, there is still no understanding of the future of Russia and the one with whom to negotiate on the order of security in Europe. In order to begin a dialogue, the Kremlin must sit in the government, which will fundamentally accept national borders and sovereignty of countries. Also, according to where Vora, Ukraine's membership in the EU and NATO will only enrich Europe.

It should be reminded that on April 11, the head of the Danish Ministry of Defense called the decision on fighter jets for the Armed Forces. Western allies should discuss supplies with Americans. No modern aircraft, which was asked for the Armed Forces, has not yet been provided, the media said. In addition, on April 9, the Russian Federation complained to the EU and explained why they invaded Ukraine.
