350 objects were injured: Naftogaz told about damage to the gas industry of Ukraine through the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation

According to Oleksiy Chernyshov, the head of NJSC Naftogaz, 450 km of gas pipelines have been damaged today. And in total, because of the missile attacks of the invaders, Ukraine lost capacity worth about $ 700 million. Russia's recent attacks on Ukraine have damaged 350 natural gas production facilities. This was stated by Naftogaz Chairman Alexey Chernyshov during the event of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

According to him, due to the constant missile attacks of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Ukraine has already lost its capacity for gas production worth about $ 700 million. "We all understand that energy is another weapon. And we have suffered a serious shelling of Russian missiles in the part of our infrastructure, as well as the gas production infrastructure was injured," Chernyshov said.

A little earlier in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine, Chernyshov said that shelling of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation damaged 450 kilometers of gas pipelines. It should be noted that the last major attack of the invaders on gas infrastructure took place on November 17. At that time, Naftogaz confirmed the shelling of the occupants of gas infrastructure. The object of JSC "Ukrgasvydobuvannya" in the east of the country came under fire.

The company reported that rescuers had already eliminated a fire that arose from shelling. According to Alexei Chernyshov, the chairman of the board of Naftogaz, it is known about several destroyed objects, others received damage to varying degrees. "These are not the first shelling of our gas infrastructure. Unfortunately, before that, the Russians have already destroyed dozens of objects in previously occupied territories in Kharkiv region and actively fired at it," Naftogaz's head summarized.

Earlier, Ukrainians were told if there may be gas supply in winter in Ukraine. Experts currently estimate the optimistic gas stocks accumulated in underground storage facilities. However, in the case of Naftogaz force majeure, gas in Europe will have to be purchased urgently. Focus also wrote that Lithuania sent equipment to repair damaged CHP. Lithuanian companies Litgrid and Amber Grid help to restore power substations and gas pipelines destroyed as a result of Russian shelling.
