"Did not do anything wrong": South Africa was answered on accusations of supplying weapons

According to the Minister of Defense of South Africa Tandy Modise, it makes no sense to conduct a judicial investigation into the incident with the mooring of the Russian ship to the naval base in Cape Town. The Minister of Defense of the South African Republic Tandy Modise responded to accusations of supplying weapons of the Russian Federation. Eyewitness News writes about it on June 14.

The Head of the Ministry of Defense of South Africa claims that in December last year on a Russian ship arrived in the port of its country, they did not load weapons. According to Modis, then the South African defense forces received a cargo from Russia for an old order since 2018. At the same time, the minister did not specify what product was talking about. "South Africa did not do anything wrong. We ordered and got a party," Tandy Modise said.

The Head of the Defense Office also believes that there is no point in the President's president Ramfosia judicial investigation into an incident with the mooring of the Russian ship to the naval base in South Africa. "We do not need the investigation committee to tell us what we know or what we do not know," the minister said.

It should be reminded that on May 11, US Ambassador to Ruben Brigetti said that the South African Republic supplied ammunition and weapons to the Russian Federation, which in December 2022 was seated to Simonstan's naval base in Capetaun. We also wrote that according to the BBC publication of June 3, Russian President Vladimir Putin became a real headache for South Africa. The country that wanted to look a steady ambassador of peace was drawn into a number of international scandals.
