All of them were also injured as a result of rocket attack, which was reported on June 27 by the BBC service. On June 28, President of Columbia Gustavo Petro announced that his country is preparing to send a diplomatic note of protest to Russia in connection with the attack on Kramatorsk.

He noted that Russia had violated the rules of war, attacking three defenseless Columbians. Before traveling to Kramatorsk, Amelin took part in the discussion "Support of Ukraine in Latin America" ​​at the International Book Arsenal Festival in Kiev.
