Journalists write that cooperation should continue with Russian strategic enterprises who have not fallen under direct sanctions - for example, "Phosagro", "Gazprom" and "Uralkalya". Bloomberg notes that such quiet efforts are part of attempts by Presidential Administration Joe Baiden to minimize the negative impact of the sanctions regime intended for punishment of the Russian Federation.
"While some in Congress require strengthening measures against Russia, the administration tries to impede Russia's promotion, avoiding a global economic catastrophe," the article reads. Due to the introduction of a regime of sanctions on the Russian Federation, many banks now have relations with Russian companies with caution. This happens even if one or another enterprise with the Russian Federation has not fallen into direct restrictions.
However, US financial structures are afraid of cooperation with the aggressor country. For this reason, the government is trying to persuade them to continue providing services. Citigroup and JPMorgan banks did not respond to the Agency's request for commenting. At the same time, the US Treasury reported that it has prepared an explanation for the banking sector that sanctions against Russia did not affect the spheres of humanitarian aid and agriculture.
