It is reported that the Kremlin will probably agree to extend the agreement after its expiration on November 19, but it is unknown whether Russia will seek to add new conditions in exchange for continuation or not. The source of the publication reported that during the negotiations the Russian side recognized the importance of restoring exports of its fertilizers of ammonia and other agricultural products.
Views note that the restoration of the work of the ammonia pipeline, which transported about 2. 3 million tons of ammonia before the invasion of Ukraine, can bring an additional $ 2. 4 billion to Russia. And this is when Western sanctions limit exports of Russian cereals and fertilizers. At the same time, representatives at the UN are still refrain from official comments on the prospects of the grain agreement.
Although, according to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov, the Secretary General of Anthony Guterres "assured, swearing" that the execution of a grain agreement for him is a priority issue. "Discussions on the continuation of the Black Sea Grain Initiative with all parties continue at different levels. At this stage we have nothing to report," the UN representative said. Earlier it was reported that Ukraine intends to extend the grain agreement and expand the agreement.
