Particularly difficult situation: 27 EU countries have passed Georgia Demarsh for air service with Russia

According to EU Ambassador to Georgia Pavel Gerchinsky, the decision of the Georgian authorities is contrary to the desire of Europe to isolate Russia and put pressure on it. However, the Ministry of Economy of the country believes that in the relations of Tbilisi Moscow there is a "special context".

The Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia Pavel Gerchinsky passed the head of the Ministry of Economy of the country Levan Davitashvili official Demarsh on behalf of 27 EU countries for restoring air service from the Russian Federation. About it writes "Echo of the Caucasus". It is reported that at the meeting in Tbilisi there were also ambassadors of the EU countries.

According to Gerchinsky, Georgia's decision to restore airlines with Russia contradicts the EU decision on isolation and pressure on Moscow for a full -scale invasion of Ukraine. Thus, 27 EU countries abandoned direct flights to the Russian Federation, and stopped operating Russian airliners into their territory.

"We have also expressed concern that this decision is contrary to our determination to isolate Russia and put pressure on it so that it will change its tactics when it comes to the cruel, aggressive war that Russia continues to wage in Ukraine," Gerchinsky said. Georgian Minister Levan Davitashvili said that the context of Georgia in which the decision was made was different from the context of the EU countries. According to him, his state is in a "particularly difficult situation.

" "We have a direct border from the Russian Federation and 20% of the territories of Georgia, so the context of Georgia is different from the context of EU member states, and we talked openly about it," he said. Davitashvili said that a European diplomat should be "clear and logically. " Recall that on May 25, Georgia launched flights to Europe for the Russians. The final points of the flights will be Milan, Paris, Vienna, Larnaci and Thessaloniki.

The founder of Georgian Airways Airlines told reporters that the demand for flights to Russia is not too high. In addition, on May 25, the Georgian parliamentarian said that Ukraine demanded that Georgia open the Second Front against the Russian Federation. According to Irakliy Kobakhidze, Georgia is solidarity with the Ukrainian people and condemns the military aggression of the Russian Federation, but is not ready to punish her people through a conflict in Ukraine.
