Ukraine can join NATO after the two areas are de -occupying - Fukuyama (video)

Professor of Stanford University Francis Fukuyama believes that the cessation of hostilities in the territory of Ukraine is possible only after "stripping" of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation of the Southern Regions. This will make Putin in fear of losing Crimea to stop the war. Ukraine can become a full member of NATO if the Ukrainian military returns to the Kherson region and Zaporizhzhya region.

This opinion was expressed by the philosopher and professor of Stanford University Francis Fukuyama during the 15th annual Kiev Security Forum on Thursday, May 25. The professor warned Ukraine against any peace talks with Moscow. He believes that as long as Vladimir Putin is in power, any ceasefire agreement will be used by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to rest and plan a new offensive.

Speaking at the forum, Fukuyama explained why the successful counter-offensive of the Armed Forces is so important for the further scenario of the Russian-Ukrainian war. In his view, the return under the control of the Armed Forces of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions will help Ukraine: Francis Fukuyama also expressed the opinion that the de -occupation of southern Ukraine would not allow not to obtain a formal peace agreement, but a thorough truce.

According to the professor, the Kremlin himself will offer a truce so as not to lose Crimea during the counter -offensive of the Armed Forces. "It can encourage Putin to stop attacks on Ukraine, unlock Ukrainian ports on a long -term basis and stop terrorist missile attacks on Ukrainian cities," the expert summed up. We will remind, on May 23, Zelensky admitted a peace treaty with the Russian Federation.
