Ammunition goes to Ukraine: the European Union will provide an Armed Forces of a million projectiles - Zelensky (video)

According to the President of Ukraine, ammunition to artillery should be at the front as soon as possible. The European Commission has allocated 1 billion euros for the transfer of shells from EU reserves. The European Union countries are ready to provide new military assistance to the Armed Forces - a million ammunition to artillery. On May 9, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said this at a briefing in Kiev with the Chairman of the European Commission Ursula von Der Lyen.

"He thanked Ursuli for the readiness of the European Union to provide Ukraine with extremely necessary ammunition, one million shells for artillery," the head of state said. During the negotiations, von der Layen and Zelensky discussed the speed of purchasing and supply of shells as they should appear at the front as soon as possible. According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine effectively protect the country from the aggression of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

"Every battle of terrorists, every success of our warriors in reflecting Russian storms is evidence that we can defeat the aggressor," Zelensky continued. According to him, the main thing in the full -scale war is the proportionality of the Armed Forces and Russian invaders. Ursula von Der Layen called the Priority Task to provide the Armed Forces with artillery shells. The fastest way is to immediately transmit ammunition from the reserves of EU countries, she is sure.

For this purpose, 1 billion euros have been allocated. Significant ammunition reserves have already been transferred or go to Ukraine, but it is urgent to do even more, added the heads of the European Commission. Zelensky also stated that it was necessary to eliminate artificial political uncertainty in Ukraine's relations with the EU. "It is time for a positive decision to open negotiations on Ukraine's membership in the EU.

Our values, security, well -being, peace on the continent - all this can be realized 100% for Europe only with Ukraine," he said. The President of Ukraine is convinced that in June, the European Commission will give a positive intermediate assessment to Ukraine on its progress in European integration. We will remind that Zelensky convened a meeting of the rates of the Supreme Commander on May 8, at which the arms and ammunition reserves in the Armed Forces were analyzed.
