Ukraine has prepared sanctions against the Russian Federation: Who will affect new restrictions

It is envisaged that within the limits of new sanctions restrictions, all operations with assets owned by banks of Russia will be suspended. The Government of Ukraine intends to impose sanctions on financial institutions of the Russian Federation. Restrictions will affect all Russian banks, including the Central Bank.

This is evidenced by the data in the project of the NSDC Resolution "On the use of sectoral special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) to the financial institutions of the Russian Federation". The document states that Ukraine's restrictions will have been in force for 50 years, they will affect all banks of Russia.

The list of sanctions also included all non -bank credit organizations, payment systems operators, professional stock market participants, insurance companies, investment funds and other financial services. All operations with the assets of these companies will also be prohibited. In addition, the NSDC decision is canceled the registration of Russian payment systems.

Other bans will also be introduced, for example: according to the People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak, the National Bank of Ukraine participated in the development of these sanctions. "This is a powerful step and an example for imitation of our international partners," he wrote. The European Union has almost agreed on a new set of economic measures against Russia for 11 billion euros and sanctions against Iranian companies that supply the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

"The package is aimed at technologies and components that Russian military or related companies can only buy from European and other Western suppliers. New EU measures are closely agreed with Washington and the United Kingdom," The Wall Street Journal wrote on February 22, 2023 the year. Western officials have acknowledged that many measures to influence Russia's ability to finance war, given energy embargoes and financial sanctions, have already been used.

Now their attention has been switched to the closure of the loopholes and preventing the possibility of evasion. We will remind, on February 5, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky gave the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on sanctions against the nuclear industry of Russia. 200 Russian companies came under the restriction. And the first in the list of the State Corporation Rosatom and its branch.
