Following the example of Hungary and Czechoslovakia: The Ministry of Defense revealed the Russian Federation Plan for the capture of Kiev

According to Lieutenant General Alexander Pavlyuk, the invaders were preparing not for street battles in the capital, but for a parade on Khreshchatyk. This is evidenced by the presence of a ceremonial form of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, which was found in destroyed equipment. The plan for the capture of Kiev in February 2022 was designed for a short-term operation of 3-5 days.

The Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Pavlyuk in an interview with RBC-Ukraine, published on March 11, told about it. According to him, Russia focused on plans that used the USSR in Hungary in 1956, Czechoslovakia in 1968 and Afghanistan in 1979. "The occupiers planned to plant the forces of special operations (SCO) and air landing on the approaches to Kiev - at the airfields of Gostomel and Vasylkiv," Pavlyuk said.

According to Lieutenant General, the enemy wanted to destroy the Ukrainian air defense system, the management of military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard and the objects of critical infrastructure. "Further, in the conditions of disorganization and collapse of the management system, they were going to seize the government quarter and to eliminate or arrest the Ukrainian leadership. Instead, to establish their detaches - puppets," Pavlyuk said.

It is noteworthy that in the destroyed technique the Russians found a parade form. According to Pavlyuk, the invaders were preparing not for street battles, but for a parade on Khreshchatyk. "Subsequently, undoubtedly, this plan changed, since the enemy's intentions were completely defeated by the defense forces," Pavlyuk recalls.

According to the Deputy Minister of the Defense Ministry, after a series of failures in Ukraine, Russian troops had to regroup, but they did not leave attempts to seize the capital. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation tried to completely surround and block the city, the invaders inflicted fire blows in Kiev in the hope of sowing panic among the local population and forcing the authorities to surrender.

We will remind, on April 11, Lieutenant General Alexander Pavlyuk also said that at the beginning of a full-scale invasion of 70 thousand Russian military and 7000 combat vehicles from the 35th All-Military Army of the Russian Federation entered the territory of Ukraine by Belarus.
