According to the adviser to the chairman of the OP Mikhail Podolyak, the creation of such territory in the Russian Federation will help ensure the safety of residents of the border regions of Ukraine. An important aspect of post-war regulation in Ukraine should be the creation of a demilitarized zone in the territory of Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk and Rostov regions of Russia, which lasts at a distance of 100-120 km deep into the aggressor country.

On May 29, the adviser to the head of the Presidential Office Mikhail Podolyak wrote on Twitter. According to Podolyak, this is necessary to prevent possible invasion and aggression in the future. Podolyak noted that the introduction of a demilitarized zone in the territory of these regions of Russia is an important step to ensure the safety of Ukrainians.

"In order to ensure the real safety of residents of Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Zaporizhia, Luhansk and Donetsk regions and their protection from shelling will be obligatory to introduce a demilitarized zone 100-120 km in the territory of Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Rostov" republic Podolyak.
