Cybersecurity experts gently hint at

Hackers will attack Russia 300% more often, local experts say

Cybersecurity experts gently hint at "Ukrainian cyberactivists". The Russian IT security service DDOS-Guard states in its official report that since the spring of 2022, the Russian infrastructure has been subjected to DDOS-Atacus 700% more often than before. DDOSAtaki is Distributed Denial of Service, distributed refusal to maintain. In fact, it is a hacker attack that maximizes the system with fake requests so that the end consumers cannot use the service.

Russian experts say streamlined that the reason is "geopolitical events of recent times. " The main motivation for DDOS-attacks on Russia was haktyvism-attacks, "which are performed in support and to demonstrate certain political ideas. " That's how strictly experts have hinted at Ukrainians and hackers from other countries that support Ukraine in the fight against the Russian aggressor.

Experts say that initially the attacks were chaotic, but soon the hactactives began to act more harmonious, united in the whole community to cause maximum damage to the Russian segment of the network. DDOS-Guard recognizes that the beginning of 2022 has become a real fire for Russian IT security. The main blow came to the media, the state sector and sites of banks. In total, 12555573 DDOS-attacks were recorded in 2022.

The average amount of DDOS-attacks per day has increased 10 times, and the number of attacks per hour-11 times. With new developments, organizing the attack has become much easier. Hactivists have created a whole segment of sites designed specifically for DDOS-attacking. It is enough for the user to just go to such a resource, and he will take part in the mass cyberattack.

The report emphasizes that the hactactiveists began to prepare more carefully: to give more coordination time, to evaluate potential casualties and to choose the most vulnerable of them. The special trend is the attack "to special dates". These are not only holidays, but also specific dates that are important for financial structures (for example, the days of surrendering quarterly and half -year reporting).

Or attacks on the sites of Russian housing companies on days when users need to submit meters and pay bills. In parallel, the attacks were directed to banks to break payments. DDOS-Guard experts in their forecasts for 2023 are caught by fear (apparently trying to advertise their services) and claim that the number of attacks on the Russian segment of the network will increase by 300%. Recently, Focus reported that hackers have learned to discharge the gadget batteries through Wi-Fi.
