Not only drones and artillery: what software use the Armed Forces to destroy the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation
It shows the location of the Ukrainian and Russian forces on a digital map, warning of the enemy's approach or other dangers. Until the Defense Ministry reveals the project details in favor of safety, but it is known that the software can be launched on laptops, tablets and even smartphones. The artilleryman Yaroslav Sherstyuk has developed several special applications for the military, one of which is Milchat messenger.
The program was created in 2018 with the support of Noosphere, and now it is used by about 60,000 Ukrainian defenders. In February, the commander of one of the brigades in Mariupol ordered the subordinates to install Milchat and to pass through it in real time. Thanks to this, the command was able to cover the unit with mortar fire and safely conduct the invaders. Yaroslav Sherstyuk also developed a virtual ballistic calculator that replaced a special tablet with a ruler.
Together with the team of Itishniki, he created on the basis of this program the application "UKROP" on Android and Mygun on iOS, now they use about 18 thousand soldiers. After the war, the Ukrainian army faced the problem of outdated maps. To solve it, the SOS Army Foundation has developed an automated nettle management system. According to the co -founder of the organization Alexei Savchenko, now it is used by about 90% of all Ukrainian artillerymen.
Scouts transfer the coordinates of the targets on which the nearest battery opens the fire. Initially, she only offered an offline card, but later she developed into a system of situational awareness for headquarters, which helps commanders at the level of divisions and battalions to evaluate the fighting situation on the terrain and better plan actions.
According to Forbes, both teams tried to establish cooperation with the Ukrainian government to receive support and additional funding, but officially "nettle" and GISARTA have never been adopted, although in 2016 they approved all the necessary documents. As a result of 2017, the SOS Army Foundation transferred to the state for free, and now releases updates.
Another useful program: a system called "armor" that allows the military to impress Russian troops from closed positions, that is, without the direct visibility of goals, using grenade launchers, mortars or tanks. According to the serviceman Alexei Gavrish, the software allows you to quickly fire enemy positions and depart without risking equipment or personnel. Recently, the Mincrifra has decided to attract the US company Palantir, whose capitalization is estimated at $ 16. 6 billion.
This giant concludes contracts with the CIA, working on the US Army and the United Kingdom. According to Deputy Minister Georgy Dubinsky, Palantir will provide the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of the system of situational awareness of different levels that combine information from drones, satellites and other sources of information.
