See you in Hague: The Netherlands Parliament supported the creation of Putin Tribunal

Deputies of Parliament believe that the choice of Hague to create a special tribunal is quite logical. It already has an International Criminal Court, where military criminals are judged. The deputies of the Netherlands Parliament with their majority supported a resolution calling for the creation of a special international tribunal for the Russian military and political leaders in the Hague for the act of aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

This was announced on Twitter by a parliamentarian from the D66 Sordsma Party. "Most of the Netherlands Parliament advocates the creation of a special tribunal to consider Russia's aggression against Ukraine. We can and should hold Putin accountable," the statement said.

Answering the questions of RTL Nieuws TV company, Sordsma noted that it is important for the international community that President Putin, who solved the war in Ukraine, does not remain unpunished, although he was still far in the courtroom. "But let's make sure that if such a situation arises, we will be ready and we can really hold it accountable," the politician said.

According to him, Hague is a logical choice for the creation of a tribunal, as it is an international city of peace and justice, which is already in the International Criminal Court (ICS). It has already been condemned by military criminals such as the leader of Bosnian Serbs Radovan Karadzich, sentenced to life imprisonment. Sologsma is convinced that Putin's pursuit requires a separate tribunal, since it is now legally impossible because of the ISS.

"There is now no tribunal that could judge him. The ISS can do it for his close ones, but not for Putin himself," the MP says. The creation of a special tribunal in the Hague was commented by the head of the Presidential Office Andriy Ermak. In his Telegram, he wrote that military and political figures of the Russian Federation will inevitably be responsible for their crimes. "I always say that the Russians will be responsible for crimes against Ukrainians.

Both current and subsequent generations will be responsible," Yermak stressed. Earlier, the deputies of the European Parliament approved a resolution calling for military assistance to Ukraine in response to pseudo -referendums conducted by the Kremlin in temporarily occupied territories. In addition, the deputies demanded to create a special tribunal to investigate the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
