The Russian company "Infotex" states that the quantum devices Vipnet QSS are almost ready for use. Russian Infotex developers have announced the production of VIPNET QSS - apparatus that provide a mobile communications protected by quantum encryption. About it writes RBC. ru. According to media, quantum communication systems can be delivered in 2023. Potential customers, as always, are security services, large corporations such as Gazprom.

These devices are argued that they can guarantee a safe connection, the protocols of which cannot be broken. VIPNET Qss is a whole complex consisting of an IP telephone, a device that provides cryptographic protection of data transmitted, server, quantum key generation system. Both subscribers have to use the complex. If one calls the VIPNET Qss number from a regular phone or smartphone, crypto protection will not work.

It is also envisaged to create a quantum network with so -called distribution units. This network will be integrated with communication lines. Scientists say that the quantum bond is very sensitive to fluctuations, temperature changes, so it is impossible to vouch for its reliability. However, during the tests, she allegedly demonstrated the possibilities of telephony, transmitting text documents. Video calls will soon be introduced.

The publication writes, referring to its own sources that the VIPNET Qss quantum telephone system can cost 40 million rubles. As for the network, it can spend hundreds of millions of rubles. Currently, at least 700 million rubles have been invested in the project. The development of quantum communication in Russia began in 2017. Today they use MSU and Infotex. Last year, they intended to build a quantum communication line "from St. Petersburg to Moscow", but so far the project was rolled up.
