Germany ignores Ukraine's requests for increasing arms supply - Welt

The German Government has been ignoring Ukraine's request for additional arms supply for several months, the German Welt German edition writes. Over the last ten weeks, Ukrainian diplomats have repeatedly raised the issue of weapons supply, addressing the German Defense Ministry, but the Ministry of Defense, as well as the Federal Chancellor Office, probably postpone these requests in a long box, according to the newspaper.

Video of the day according to the newspaper, at the Ministry of Defense of Germany, since June, several meetings were held on a monthly basis, in which the head of the department Kristina Lambrecht also participated. During these meetings, the Ukrainian side asked Germany to continue to supply her types of weapons that have already been supplied earlier - self -propelled Panzerhaubitze 2000 arts and Mars II rocket launchers. Germany has already put 10 such howitzers and three RSSLs to Kiev.

The Ukrainian side also insisted on issuing the German defense industry for exports to Ukraine tanks and armored vehicles. In particular, in April, Ukraine received a proposal to buy from 268 million euros 100 BMP MARDER and 88 Leopard-1 tanks from the RheinMetall concern, including ammunition and briefing. According to the manufacturer, this technique was "quickly prepared", but there was no reaction from the department of the Federal Chancellor.

In mid -August, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov personally discussed this problem with a telephone with German colleague Lambrecht. Earlier, the same topic was discussed by the Presidential Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak and the Jens Pleterner Federal Chancellor Advisor. "Our requests have always been listened to and recorded, but there are no results," - said the publication in Ukrainian government circles about meetings in the German Defense Ministry.
