"The release will last more than one day." How Ukrainians perceive in the occupation of the Armed Forces in the south of Ukraine - Kherson's story

In an interview with Radio NV, a resident of Kherson Anton Kovalenko told how local perceived the active actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the southern direction and how the invaders responded to the offensive - like the night from 29 to 30 August in Kherson. Much happened. What could you hear and see? What are your impressions? - The night was relatively calm, until fifth in the morning. The evening was restless because it was very loud in the city.

The evening [August 29] was also very restless, during the day it was very loud. From the fifth in the morning [August 30], as I then read in telegrams, arrivals on the Antonovsky Bridge began, somewhere in the case. In the morning there were arrivals around the city, on a building near the Nikolaev highway, somewhere else. Video Day Intuition tells me that these "fun" has not ended, that there will be something else. At least I am preparing myself for this. - You talked about the Nikolaev highway.

There was a video that there is a building called Brain. What is it for Brain. Do you know what it was? - Brain is a network of computer equipment stores, there is such a shop on the Nikolaev highway. This building has a large company that sells roofing materials. When I repaired my parents' house, I bought materials, so I know this building well. They said that there was a headquarters, like a hospital, some more locations. Therefore, apparently, the goal was very appropriate in this case.

- During and after these cotton, as we call them, the Russians began to make raids in the city, especially near the arrivals. They check everything and look for those who may be involved. There was even a recovery that the phones need to be cleaned, to delete anything that can be compromised somehow. Did you see similar raids? - These raids can be said, in the latent version, is in Kherson almost daily. Acquaintances who live near the TPPs said that they are checking the houses there.

Near the police school, where they live, where there is the residence of their "police" - he did not see himself, acquaintances spoke. There are many cars and the DNR police and the Military Auto Inspection. In this neighborhood, they check the homes almost daily. When they came, they checked everything. These checks may now be more intense. This is logical in this case.

- How does the city live? Something changed? From what could you see or hear what grade you can do? - Public transport worked in the morning [August 30]. I saw it, I went out for a short time. Shops, the Dnieper market worked, but not as active as other, quieter days. Many retail outlets were empty, stores were opened in the morning. Passers -by on the streets were, but much less than even [August 29]. There were fewer cars on the roads.

- We need to understand that Kherson residents, on the one hand, are waiting for release, and on the other - it is still a threat. Do you know about the facts that the residents of the city have become more likely to leave, at least to try to leave? - Yes, friends told me that there was a big queue for crossing near the Antonovsky Bridge. There is something like a ferry crossing. In the morning [August 30] there were many cars - people tried to go to the left bank of the Dnieper.

It is, but what motivation for these people, I do not know. - If you talk about Kherson's geography, there is a KhBK area. - There is such an area, very large. - Allegedly Russian invaders made a fortress there, using it as an outpost. Did you hear something about it? - There are several checkpoints. There is no large fortress there, because it is a very dense residential building. There are checkpoints near the shopping and entertainment center, which was destroyed in early March.

There, they say, there are serious checkpoints. But I didn't see, the neighbors spoke. There is a Berislav highway, entering the city from Nova Kakhovka. Probably some fortifications there are there. - Everyone warns that the rapid release of the Kherson region is impossible. But this is our nature: we want it to happen instantly. Do the Kherson understand? What are the moods in the city? - I think most people understand that liberation is not one day and maybe not even one week.

And, knowing the history of the city, the liberation of Kherson in 1944, you can make [conclusion] . . . I understand - different times, different specifics. But then this operation lasted in the south of Ukraine, it seems four months. Now it will be more than one day. People understand, but they are now very scared because the front line is approaching the city with appropriate risks. - There was a fire in one of the high -rise buildings. Fortunately, no one was injured, it is reported that all is well.

- Yes, elements of the whipped projectile from the RSZV got there. There was both fire and destruction. - When we talked to the previous time, you told that there were fewer those who with the letter "Z" among the occupiers, more than those who with the letter "V".

We also remember that in the south, in Kherson, many representatives of the so -called "L/DNR" are Ukrainian citizens who have decided for some reason that they should be with Russia, should make misery in other regions of Ukraine, which have in their occupied parts of Lugansk and Donetsk regions. Speaking of a week, 10 days, has something changed in the occupiers? - I can't talk about it with one hundred percent accuracy, but it seems to me that it has become a little more than the Russians.

They wrote that there was a rotation and allegedly drove some other military units. But in the city of people in a specific form - the so -called "mobics" - I now see less, namely, I see Russian military uniform more often. - We are talking a lot about the preparation of the Russians for the "referendum". We also say that the offensive actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are hindering the Kremlin's plans. Do you see preparation for such a pseudo -referendum? - So far, all this is in words.
