Andriy Yermak discussed with the Ukrainian defenders released from the Russian captivity by the work of the coordination headquarters on the management of prisoners of war
The need for the formation of such a structure was due to the fact that with the beginning of a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine increased the number of captives in the country-aggressor from among Ukrainian servicemen of various units and law enforcement agencies. Many experts from law enforcement agencies and ministries were involved in organizing quality work of the staff.
At the same time, the head of the head of state emphasized the importance of involving the staff of the military who were captured. In his opinion, their life experience will facilitate the proper and effective work of the headquarters, improving communication with relatives and loved ones who are still in captivity in the Russian Federation or temporarily occupied territories. “Your expertise is very important to us - how true it is.
Because you have passed through this, you were directly aware of all the details, on each part of the exchange process, you know that it was wrong, ”he said. According to the head of the office of the Head of State, it is necessary to improve the work of the headquarters in such a way that both Ukrainian society and every warrior who defends Ukraine today was understood that they were protected by the Ukrainian state.
"And if the warrior is held captive, then the state 24/7 deals with his return and informs his family," he also said. In addition, Andriy Yermak emphasized the importance of providing all the necessary Ukrainians who returned from captivity home, carrying out their rehabilitation, family support and more. After all, being in captivity is difficult both physically and psychologically, so help requires restoration and adaptation.
The head of the head of state said that more than a month ago, when communicating with captured soldiers and their relatives, he heard about bureaucratic difficulties with the restoration of documents that sometimes arise from released prisoners. So Andrey Yermak appealed to the Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov, and after discussing this problem it was decided to add a special functionality for the former prisoners.
According to Mikhail Fedorov, the decision "Personal Manager" was developed, through which the released from captivity will be able to receive assistance in the restoration of the passport, marriage certificates, driver's license and more. A personal card will be created for each captive, and a support manager will be fixed.
Head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the chairman of the coordination headquarters Kirill Budanov noted that all servicemen who, after captivity, remained in a service in certain military and law enforcement agencies, can be involved in a public basis.
Andriy Yermak emphasized the importance of the staff's work in the context that today there is actually no international organization that can visit the places of maintenance of Ukrainian prisoners, monitor their health, and control the conditions of stay. “We do not accept what we hear from the ICRC.
It is impossible that there are concentration camps in the center of Europe in the center of Europe, and they are waiting for approval for months to get there and check the conditions, ”he stated. The head of the Presidential Office also emphasized the importance of involving the staff of the media, the information center of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in order to strengthen communication with the public, dissemination of information about activities and contacts for citizens' appeals.
When visiting the coordination headquarters on the management of prisoners of war, Andriy Yermak got acquainted with the work of the public reception, where people can receive professional consultations from representatives of ministries and departments. Psychologists and lawyers work on a permanent basis, who help families of prisoners of war and missing persons in special circumstances.
