Andriy Yermak urged representatives of leading Jewish organizations to promote the provision of modern air defense systems to Ukraine

The head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak met in videoconference mode with representatives of leading Jewish organizations, during which he emphasized the importance of giving our country modern air defense systems that Israel has. Andriy Yermak told the participants of the online meeting that on October 7-8, Russia struck 190 strokes with rockets and drones in the territory of Ukraine, and on October 10 84 rockets and 24 shock UAVs were released.

In total, according to the available information, the Russian Federation purchased from Iranian 2400 drones-Kamikadze, which daily beat in Ukrainian cities, critical infrastructure and monuments of history and culture. In particular, as the head of the head of state noted, on Monday, October 17, such a drone was destroyed by a historic house in the center of Kiev, built by a Jewish community, in which many famous people lived at one time.

"It is about the desire to intimidate civilians, an effort to destroy the critical infrastructure of Ukraine before winter, to immerse the country into darkness and frost," - said the head of the Presidential Office. Andriy Yermak noted that the Russian authorities are considering the possibility of purchasing missiles and other weapons for blows in Ukraine. He stressed that the Russian aggressor focuses on its efforts not only against our country, but also against the whole civilized world.

“I think there is no doubt that we are dealing with a terrorist state. Russia is a terrorist state who uses Iran in its fight against the United States and their allies, including Israel. Russia is a European Hezbollah, - Andrei Yermak is convinced. The head of the Presidential Office stressed that without reliable air defense systems, no one in Ukraine will be able to feel safe: children will not be able to go to school, and civilians will be left without heat and electricity.

"Finally, our allies and partners, including the United States, the United Kingdom and other states, have confirmed the start of work on providing Ukraine with air defense systems," he said. Andriy Yermak urged Israel to participate in effective assistance to Ukraine, because at times when the aggressor poses threats to the whole world, it is impossible to remain a stranger. According to him, it is important to unlock military and technical cooperation between the two countries.

In particular, according to the head of the Presidential Office, Jewish NGOs are now able to influence the situation and persuade the Israeli government to provide our country with the necessary systems. "Today, the voice of each of you, your organizations is critical of Air Defense, which is Israel has a truly extensive experience, and most importantly, these systems have these systems," Andrey Yermak stressed.

The head of the head of state also noted the importance of information support of Ukraine in the difficult times of the war. “Explain as citizens and politicians what Russia's real goals are in this war, as well as what Ukraine is fighting for. It is not only necessary for us - it is also the key to peace for Israel, ”Andrey Yermak said.

He urged Ukraine in the conclusion of the Kiev Security Treaty on a security guarantee mechanism, which was developed by an international group of experts under the chairmanship of the head of the Presidential Office and the former NATO Secretary General Anders Fog Rasmussen. Andriy Yermak stressed that despite the war, Ukraine will not stop in the development and support of the Babin Yar Memorial Center, although the fighting is making their adjustments.

"This memorial will develop and will really become one of the most powerful memorials in the world," he assured. For his part, the chairman of the Executive Council of the Jewish Agency for Israel and the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Memorial Center of the Holocaust "Babin Yar", Nathan Sharansky noted that the war in Ukraine is not only the tragedy of the Ukrainian people, it is a war for the future of the whole free world.

"Therefore, like everyone present here, I think that being with Ukraine at this moment is not just a moral duty, it is in the interests of Israel," Nathan Sharansky said. He noted that early warning systems about missile attacks, which is ready to provide Israel, will help Ukraine more economically use air defense products and more promptly inform citizens.

However, he said, Israel can provide much more help, so this is only the first step, and everything should be decided in the negotiation process. “Our duty is to do everything to do it. It is necessary for the people of Ukraine, but we need it as part of the free world, because Putin has encroached on the foundations of the free world and wants to deprive us of this freedom, ”Nathan Sharansky said.

The chief rabbi of Kyiv, the President of the Jewish religious organizations of Ukraine, Jacob, emphasized that in this historical struggle, Zrael should be on the side of the truth and protecting people's lives. “We are talking about saving life now - it's not about politics, not about elections. We are talking about war against people now, against the nation. It is a terror for destroying people. We have something to stop it, ”said Jacob Dovikh.
