Ukrainians told what they see victory in the war against the Russian Federation - a survey

According to a survey, 93% of respondents do not doubt Ukraine's victory. And most citizens believe that negotiations of peace with Moscow are impossible even for the sake of saving lives. From 13 to 21 December 2022, a survey on the Russo-Ukrainian War was conducted in Ukraine. In particular, the organizers wondered what victory means for Ukrainians, and when and under what conditions the end of this war is expected. The results were published by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation.

According to the survey, the vast majority of our country's citizens are convinced of the victory of Ukraine - 93% of respondents believe in victory and only 3% doubt. As a percentage ratio, more skeptics (10%) live in the East compared to other regions. Of those who do not doubt the victory, 39% of those polled believe that the war will end in Ukraine's victory in the summer of 2023.

22% are betting on victory in 1-2 years, and another 20% believe that victories can be achieved in the coming months. The vast majority - 54% of Ukrainians see the exile of Russian troops from all over Ukraine. At the same time, it is clarified that it is a matter of resumption of borders as of January 2014. 22% of respondents are convinced that it is impossible to dwell and should seek complete destruction of the Russian army and the collapse of the Russian Federation from the inside.

Meanwhile, 18% of respondents are ready to consider the victory of termination of hostilities in exchange for the concessions of a certain part of the occupied territories. At the same time, 8% of them are ready to yield only Crimea, 6% - the territory occupied by February 23, 2022, and 3% - all territories that are occupied by the Russian army today.

Residents of the western and southern regions of Ukraine are ready to end the war, even if the occupiers are delayed in the territories captured after February 24 this year. 62% of respondents believe that the war can stop only in the event of victory. On the contrary, 26% of respondents are ready to make concessions of Russia if it helps to reach peace. It is noted that the proportion of Ukrainians, which consider any concessions to Moscow, has increased by 4% compared to October.

The largest percentage of citizens who are ready to make concessions from the Russian Federation among the southern inhabitants - 35% and the eastern 39% of the regions. However, 60% of Ukrainians believe that negotiations of peace with Moscow are impossible even for the sake of saving lives, because Russia still does not comply with agreements.
