In breaks between shelling: postmen hardly deliver parcels to frontline cities - WP
Three times a month they deliver parcels for the elderly who still live in settlements near the front line. Guliaypole is one of them. "Someone has to do this job," said Natalia Grinenko 55-year-old employee of Ukrposhta. It is reported that she was the head of the local post office until the building was destroyed by the Russian military. It happened in May 2022. "If God needs to be in this place at this time, then it will be," she said.
The publication writes that there is no water, no electricity or gas in Guliaypol. About 100 people live in the settlement. Most of them are pensioners. The material states that Gulyaypole is now one of the most dangerous places in Ukraine, located along the key direction for the Armed Forces. Many postal offices in the front regions are destroyed, so postmen have to work in unknown premises. For example, in Guliaypol, the ward is the first floor of the hospital requested.
As another employee Lyudmila Panchenko told, when delivering parcels, you can never be sure of their safety. "But where do I go? There are still people here, so we have to continue to work," she said. The guard Konstantin, who had previously worked in the police, said that due to low salaries - this activity is perceived more than volunteering than as work. We will remind that on June 21 the Armed Forces told about the attempt of the Russians to seize reflected positions under Bakhmut.
