"Exclude from the catalog": Yermak asked Spotify to join the sanctions against the Russian Federation

The Presidential Head also appealed to BP and Shell companies and asked them to abandon Russian raw materials and thus support Ukraine and not allow the Russian Federation to use cash to continue the war in our country. Ukraine has appealed to the musical Spotify service to remove Russian performers from their catalogs who support the aggressive policy of Russian leader Vladimir Putin. This was reported by the Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Ermak in an interview with The Sunday Times.

Thus, the Presidential Head asked the service to join anti-Russian sanctions and support Ukraine (including Ukrainian performers and Ukrainian content consumers) in the face of a full-scale invasion of Russia. In addition, Yermak appealed to BP and Shell companies with a call to give up projects with Russia and stop making a profit from Russian raw materials.

We will remind, in August 2022 Spotify presented a playlist for Independence Day of Ukraine with the request of President Vladimir Zelensky. Thus, the music arming service supported Ukraine and Ukrainians, and called for users of the program to learn more about the United24 platform, created to raise funds that will go to the restoration of Ukraine. The service will also link to the United24 site. Focus in December 2021 also wrote that Spotify has an official account of Ukraine.
