In Russia, the Ural Unmanned truck is being tested: no cabin, but with Intel (video) chips
In the future, MMC-Metase promises to reach the fifth level of autonomy, when the truck will be able to perform the task completely independently without the least participation of people. It is assumed that such a truck will pay for just a year or two daily operation. The drone is built on the Ural-432067-73 platform, but received more compact dimensions: the length of the car is 6. 5 meters and the height is 2. 3 meters.
The fact is that the designers completely removed the cabin, so the hood goes immediately into the open cargo platform. Otherwise, the design of the machine resembles ordinary Russian trucks, but only instead of a hand box stands automatic. Another difference is the presence of electronics and software from NGO "Android equipment", which is famous for the manufacture of the work of "Fedor". The calculators needed to work the autopilot are the American Intel Core i7 processors.
It is worth noting that Intel stopped supplying its products to Russia in March last March. In "MMK-Metase", it cannot yet be called the deadline for production, and given the anti-Russian sanctions, it is under a big question. According to AUTO magazine, the unmanned Urals first presented at the Army-2022 in August. According to the manufacturers, the car received "technical vision" and passed preliminary tests.
