Classical Practice of Russian Spies: CIA Exophisher spoke about the "drain" of US documents
The US National Security Agencies have launched an investigation into how secret materials on the possible plans of the Armed Forces were publicly available. American officials have noted that investigators are now trying to determine which one or group could be profitable. At the same time, the leak can be the largest since 2013, when thousands of US documents have been published on WikiLeaks.
"The Pentagon had to restrict unbridled access to some of the most sensitive intelligence when there were no justified reasons for this," the first official said. Former CIA Senior Officer Daniel Hoffman further noted that, given the Kremlin's past activities, it is likely that they may be involved in it. All because such operations are the "classic" practice of Russian spies that have repeatedly tried to influence relations between Ukraine and the US.
At the same time, Washington is the largest military assistance supplier of Kiev, which could be a motive. The publication has sent the Kremlin and the Russian Embassy about the country's involvement in this event, but the answer was not received. Recall that on April 10, the Pentagon and the White House confirmed the leakage of secret data. US National Security Advisor John Kirby stated that Washington could not answer yet whether the problem of leakage from the Pentagon has been resolved.
