Poland called for expeling the Russian Federation from the IAEA
Video of the day the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, Zaporizhzhya NPP, was captured by Russian invaders after battles in Energodar on March 4. The buildings of the ZPE were damaged by Russian shelling in several places, and the staff of the station were captured. Russian troops have equipped fire positions for the ZPP and fired from there Ukrainian cities.
Energoatom reported that the military of the Russian Federation had placed in the machine hall of the first power unit of Zaporizhzhya NPP at least 14 units of heavy military equipment with ammunition, weapons and explosives. In total, more than 40 units of military equipment of Russians were stationed in the station. In August, the invaders repeatedly arranged provocations with the shelling of the ZPP.
Energoatom reported that Russia is preparing to disconnect the Zaporozhye NPP from the power system of Ukraine. On August 25, Russian invaders provoked the first in the history of the NPP temporary disconnection from the power grid. The last Zaporizhzhya NPP stopped work on September 11 because of the regular Russian shelling, which damaged all communication lines.
On September 1, despite the obstacles from the Russian invaders, the IAEA delegation of 14 experts visited the Zaporozhye NPP in the temporarily occupied energy. Experts, led by the CEO of the Agency Rafael Grosssey, spent several hours in the territory. There are two permanent representatives of the mission at the station. As noted in Energoatom, the Russians have made every effort to prevent the MAIM mission to get acquainted with the real situation at the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
