Ukrainian defenders said that the invaders are trying to advance only the infantry, which are promptly destroyed. Only a few invaders, ready to surrender, reach the positions of the defense forces. According to the command of the Omega-5 unit, which is part of the Omega National Guard Special Forces, the Ukrainian military took control positions near Avdiivka and do not allow the enemy to approach the administrative center closer than 6 kilometers.

This was reported on Thursday, June 29 in the National Guard of Ukraine on the official Facebook page. "We are at altitudes, we have higher positions, so it is very difficult for the enemy to get closer to our positions. The enemy still tries to move towards the city, but closer than 6 kilometers, the enemy is not suitable for their technique. At present, the invaders are trying to step up only infantry , which our scouts see and destroy them promptly.

As a result, several occupiers reach our positions with their hands raised, "-said Omega-5 commander. The press service clarifies that the enemy is now cut off from its logistics nodes, and their position in this area of the front is close to critical. "We see them on the approaches to burn and come out twice a day to drink water from the puddle. This says something: they cannot feel safe on this segment of the front," - said in the message.

However, this area of the front is the most difficult, and this has its own prehistory. "Our troops were based on a full -scale invasion here, it was the closest point to Donetsk. And today it is one of the most difficult sections of the fronts, because the enemy in this direction was dug and prepared for 9 years," the National Guard was said. The Omega-5 commander admitted that when holding this line, we have to rely not so much on power as cunning and ingenuity.

"It is our drones and FPV that make their (enemy - ed. In Avdiivka, according to the National Guard, despite the constant shelling of the enemy, there are still about 3,000 civilians, it also makes this direction extremely important. On May 30, the Armed Forces fighters repelled the great attack of Russian invaders on Avdiivka - concentrated the strikes of artillery, "hailsters" and tanks.
