Why only 18? Melnyk complained that Germany handed over the Armed Forces too few LEOPARD 2 tanks

The Deputy Foreign Minister noted that Germany has 600 FUCHS APCs and 300 Wiesel armored vehicles, but Ukraine has not received any units of this armored vehicle. Germany has put only 6% of its Leopard 2 tanks in Ukraine and did not transfer any Fuchs or Wiesel armored personnel carriers, although it is such equipment that Ukraine's armed forces need for a successful counter -offensive.

This was stated on April 22 by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Melnyk on the air of a telecommunication. The diplomat expressed a misunderstanding of why Germany has put so many modern tanks, because the Bundesver has 382 units of Leopard 2. "They gave us 18 tanks Leopard 2. Germany herself has 382 such tanks. That is, we were given only 6% of tanks that Germany has. Why not give at least 18? And better even 50 or 100 tanks. I don't understand why, "Melnyk said.

In addition, the Deputy Minister complained that Berlin has 600 FUCHS APCs and 300 Wiesel armored vehicles, and the Ukrainian army did not receive any such car. "The Bundesver has about 600 Fuchs armored vehicles. This is an APC so that the troops can move quickly. They have 600 such cars, and we have not received it that we need for the offensive," Melnyk added.

We will remind, on the page on Twitter on April 22 the diplomat published a post in which he thanked Western allies for the provided military assistance, but at the same time stated that it was not enough. According to him, in order for the Armed Forces to be able to end the Russian invaders, they need 10 times more. "This is not enough. Ukraine needs ten more to end the Russian aggression this year.
