Erdogan stated that the exchange of prisoners is an important step to ending war

The Turkish leader noted that the exchange became possible after the negotiations of the Presidents of Ukraine and Russia through Turkey. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the exchange of prisoners took place as a result of negotiations with Russian Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky through Turkey. According to him, this exchange is an important step towards the end of the war, according to the Turkish Agency Anadolu.

Erdogan added that the Turkish side continues to make efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine, and also thanked the leaders of the warring countries and all who participated in the process with consent to the exchange of prisoners of war. Meanwhile, Jake Sullivan, a US Presidential Advisor Jake Sullivan, thanked Turkey for mediation in the course of exchange of Russian and Ukrainian prisoners of war.
