Again it is delayed: the Russian Federation is planned to complete the test of the T-14 "Armata" tank in 2023
This time, the head of the Russian Department of Armored vehicles, Major General Alexander Shestakov states that the test of new weapons samples will be completed next year. The Armata tank was to be arranged by the Russian army in 2021, but he constantly has problems. For example, a problem with a unmanned tower, a power unit, a gearbox and a number of other things. The latest tests have changed the sound of the engine, which is characteristic of tanks with a gas turbine engine.
Probably, the Russian Federation has solved problems with the power plant and the box, but the issue with the unmanned tower remains open. And after the introduction of Western sanctions, the author arises whether the Russian defense will be able to produce "Armat" in principle. The adoption of heavy T-15 BMPs is also constantly postponed. The development of BMP was designed to replace BMP-2 and MT-LB, as well as an APC in the Russian army.
Its distinctive feature is the high level of booking, as on tanks, but its layout raises questions. The front axle is too high, which can cause problems in operation. In addition, it is not yet decided which combat module will be installed on the serial version of the BMP T-15-"Baikal" or "Era". BMP is based on Armati chassis, which will lead to some heredity in problems with the engine and gearbox.
