According to Russian sources, the cause of flooding was the outdated design of the dock itself. In the occupied Sevastopol, on June 21, the floating dock together with the vessel that was in it. This was stated by the Russian edition of Forpost, citing a comment on the ship repair plant. In the Southern Bay there was a flooding of the floating dock, which housed the property of the ship repair plant "Persei", according to the publication.

The representative of the enterprise reported that the incident with the flooding of the floating dock happened on June 21, but did not reveal additional details. According to the information obtained, the cause of the event was not external circumstances, but the outdated design of the dock itself.

The Russian source also reported that this is not the first swimmer to sink in the Southern Bay. A similar incident occurred in December 2019. Then a written boat with B-380, which was in it, went under the water. Recall that on June 13, two tankers collided on the Lena River in the Irkutsk region. As it became known, the captain of one of the ships at the time of the accident was in a state of alcohol intoxication, so the tank was managed by his assistant.
