Russian nuclear weapons in Belarus are placed without temporary restrictions - the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation

The placement of nuclear weapons in Belarus is a "forced event", said Russian diplomat Alexei Polishchuk. Its return to the territory of the Russian Federation is possible only in the case of similar steps from the US in Europe. The placement of Russian tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus will not have temporary restrictions.

In the current geopolitical situation, the return of nuclear weapons back to the Russian Federation is possible when the US and NATO countries abandon the course of "undermining the security and sovereignty of Russia" and Belarus. This was stated by the director of the Second CIS Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexei Polishchuk on June 19 in an interview with the TASS agency.

"As for the possible time frames of finding Russian Taise in Belarus, no restrictions on this Russian-Belarusian agreements are foreseen," Polishchuk said. According to him, the return of tactical nuclear weapons to the territory of Russia is possible if the US is completely removed from the territory of Europe with the subsequent treatment of all relevant infrastructure.

"In the current geopolitical situation, the main conditions of hypothetical return to Russia could be the refusal of the United States and NATO to undermine the safety and sovereignty of Russia and Belarus," the diplomat said. Polishchuk added that the placement of nuclear weapons in a neighboring country is a "forced measure" in the context of NATO's aggressive policy and taking into account the destructive practice of joint nuclear missions.

"Open support from the Westerners of the Kiev regime and unwillingness to take into account the legitimate requirements of our country in the field of security became a trigger of such a step in response to Moscow and Minsk," - emphasized the Russian diplomat.

Finally, Polishchuk emphasized that the Kremlin's actions in this matter "do not contradict the international legal obligation", in particular an agreement on the non -proliferation of YaO, since the control over nuclear weapons remains in Russia. We will remind, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on June 15 that Russia can apply nuclear weapons against Ukraine in case of threat to Russia.
