The main argument in the issue of Ukraine's accession to the Alliance, said the head of the Ministry of Defense, is the fact that the Ukrainian army is the only one in the world that has the experience of containing Russia. This was stated on June 28 by Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov in an interview with Financial Times. "Ukraine was the only country in the world that had the combat experience of restraining the Russians and began to beat them with the Alliance's weapons. What is the argument needed to invite Ukraine to NATO?" - said Reznikov.

Before that, Reznikov noted that Ukraine expects to receive at the NATO summit in Vilnius, which should take place on July 11-12, "clear conditions" of joining the North Atlantic Alliance. According to him, Kiev sees at least two options - either the allies will name specific terms of admission, or a certain event after which Ukraine will become a member of the Alliance.
