According to the Russian media, the work on improving the Strategic Tu-160M ​​rocket launchers began by order of the Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu in 2015. In Russia, an advanced strategic Tu-160M ​​rocket launcher, developed by PJSC "Tupolev", was presented. This is stated on the website of the United Aviation Corporation of the Russian Federation (OAC). It is reported that in December 2022, the Russian strategic Tu-160m bomber made its first flight.

"Pilots performed maneuvers to check the stability and controllability of the aircraft in the air, the efficiency of aircraft systems and engines, as well as onboard radio electronic equipment," - writes in the UAC. Russian journalists claim that the renewal of the production of Tu-160 bombers began in 2015 after the corresponding order of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergey Shoigu. Russian engineers had to create a new version of the aircraft carrier from scratch.

The purpose of improving the Tu-160 was to create a new generation shock aircraft. The Tu-160M ​​is a modernized version of the Tu-160 bomber created during the USSR. Among the pilots the aircraft was called "White Swan". Tu-95m and Tu-160ms bombers are the basis of the far-space forces of the Russian Federation. Tu-160m is the hardest combat aircraft in the world. It is expected that it can carry winged rockets with nuclear warheads.

Its technology was deployed in response to the creation of the Rockwell B-1 Lancer aircraft carrier in the USA. It should be reminded that the Russian armed forces changed the scheme of flights of their bombers for beats of Ukraine. According to the Deputy Chief of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense Vadim Skibitsky, the planes do not currently enter the Ukrainian airspace.
