Hungary Prime Minister Viktor Orban has told his legislators that he needs to do everything possible to abolish the EU sanctions against Russia for a full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the end of the year, Magyar Nemzet writes. According to the sources of the newspaper closely related to the Hungarian Prime Minister, Orban announced it at a closed meeting. He stated that sanctions are harming Europe's economy more than Russia.

According to Orban, after the abolition of restrictions, the gas price will immediately decrease, and the economy of Europe will recover, restrain inflation and reduce the risk of recession. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siyarto said that the European Union should not consider a new eighth package of sanctions against Russia. The EU adopted the seventh package of sanctions against Russia on July 21. The EU has introduced a ban on gold operations with the Russian Federation, including jewelry.

The EU has also expanded the list of sub-goods that can contribute to the military-technical development of the aggressor country or its defense and security sector, increasing the export control of dual-use goods and advanced technologies. Since the beginning of the full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, Hungary has been against the imposition of sanctions against Moscow, and did not allow the supply of Western weapons through its territory to Kiev.

On September 18, Hungary Prime Minister Viktor Orban made a pro-Russian speech and declared the EU's rapid collapse.
