In particular, the command representative for the first time at the official level recognized the fact of withdrawal of units of defense forces of Ukraine from Soledar, who actively stormed Russian troops for several weeks. According to the abdomen, the fighters took pre -prepared defense positions after leaving the frontline city. At the same time, the speaker of the command did not specify when it was the Ukrainian servicemen who were withdrawn from Soledar.
"After months of heavy fighting, in particular in recent weeks, the Armed Forces of Ukraine left Soledar and retreated on the outskirts to pre -prepared positions," said the Cherevaty in communication with French journalists. It should be noted that on January 13, the Ministry of Defense of Russia reported the alleged full seizure of Soledar and claimed that as a result of the fighting, the invaders "managed to eliminate 700 Ukrainian servicemen and 300 units of military equipment".
The last General Staff of the Armed Forces in its reports mentioned Soledar on January 22. In the morning, the command claimed that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continued to take offensive actions in the Bakhmut direction. The General Staff of the Armed Forces also informed that the frontline city was hit by the Russian artillery. The UK Ministry of Defense Military Intelligence in the Construction of January 18 assumed that the Armed Forces could leave Sledar after fierce fighting.
