Refuses to dollars. Russia pays Rs for import from India - Reuters

Moscow has received Rupees from New Delhi for a couple of transactions, but does not sell oil for Indian currency. The Russian Federation uses RUPIA to pay import goods from India to reduce dependence on the US currency. About it reports Reuters. The publication reminds that in April, Russian Viceremier Denis Manturov declared Moscow's desire to conduct more trade operations in "national currencies and currencies of friendly countries". In this way, she tries to refuse to use dollars.

At the same time, the Russian "Gazprombank" became the only foreign bank that opened a special Russian account in UCO Bank, told the UCO Executive Director Soma Soma Sharus Prasad. According to him, from January there were about 19-20 transactions in Rupias, and they were all related to Indian export to Russia.

Prasad specified that the rupees, which Russia pays to Indian exporters, came to the Russian Gazprombank account as a result of two sales agreements, including equipment for measuring the level of pollution. Meanwhile, oil trade between Moscow and New Delhi is still not going on in Indian currency. Recall that on May 4, Reuters, citing Indian officials, wrote that Russia refuses to sell in Rs, as it is afraid of the formation of a large excess of this currency.
